Nicole Fosko - Class of 2018

Nicole Fosko graduated from Stevens in 2018, with an M.Dm in biomedical engineering. She would continue her education at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and at a residency at the hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Nicole is slated to be an academic hospitalist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Alongside a budding medical career, she has also visited 33 countries while still being connected to Stevens through the undergraduate biomedical engineering curriculum. Kim Savitsky - Class of 2017

Kim Savitsky graduated from Stevens with her Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering in 2017 and achieved her Master’s in 2018. She took part in the Biomedical Engineering Society, Stevens Health Professional Society, and the Pre-Med Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta. She’s gone on to gain seven years of industry experience, working in bio-pharmaceutical and bio-tech companies on different drug types and is currently a Regulatory Affairs Manager at Affinity Biosciences. In discussion with host Ed Eichhorn, they discuss Kim’s trajectory through her biomedical engineering degree, her experience with Stevens’ internship programs and how her hands-on experience in the medical field helped her envision her own path in biomedicine.

Vikram Singh - Class of 2019

Vikram Singh graduated from Stevens in 2019 with a Master’s Degree in Information Systems, going on to be a software quality engineer at CVS with over 10 years of experience in healthcare and finance. He is a charter member of the Quality Engineering Foundation, and would go on to act as a mentor in software testing and artificial intelligence. Olivia Schreiber - Class of 2018

Olivia Schreiber graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology in 2018 with a Bachelors of in Chemical Biology with a minor in Medical Humanities. While immersing herself in all things Stevens, she took a Science Writing and Communication class that shifted her path and aspirations. Throughout her continued education, from Johns Hopkins University to Rowan University, she has intertwined writing and medicine. She is currently a resident at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and pursuing internal medicine with an interest in nephrology. With host Ed Eichhorn, they discuss how her career goals and interests shifted over time, how she's learned to communicate the wonders of science through her writing and how others can pursue their interests, even in non-traditional ways.

Va'Shayna Williams - Class Of 2022

Va’Shayna Williams is a Stevens Institute of Technology Alumni who graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Biology and Master of Science in Bioengineering. She is now pursuing her MD degree at Albany Medical College to become a physician. She is a first-generation Caribbean-American who is intelligent, ambitious, curious, and tenacious. Her resume consists of working as a Manufacturing Associate for Bristol Myers Squibb in CAR-T therapy, a Medical Assistant, a Tutor, a Mentor, and an Oncology Research Assistant. In this episode with Ed Eichhorn, she discusses advocating for women's health and mental health for minority groups, her future as a physician as a budding Student Doctor and embarking on a lifelong journey that will allow her to impact many lives.

Andrea Jabbal - Class of 2005

Andrea Jabbal graduated in the Class of 2005 from Stevens with a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering. Due to the state of the job market at the time, she would start a career in the medical device industry and go on to take a variety of roles from manufacturing engineering to clinical development. Along the way, she developed a passion for mentoring and continues to offer guidance to others navigating a path to their future. Bob Gialanella - Class of 1970

Bob Gialanella graduated Class of 1970 from Stevens, with a BE in Mechanical Engineering. He decided to pursue a medical career after a brief time in the corporate world. This journey started in Angiers, France at the Faculty of Medicine. Years down the line, he would join a GI group practice for the next 20 years, utilizing his engineering background to become a consultant. During this conversation with host Ed Eichhorn, Bob goes over how he approached his unique path to a medical career, the changes he saw with the shift in technology through the years, and how he handled problem solving in medicine coming as someone from an engineering background.

Donald Kennedy - Class of 1969

Donald Kennedy graduated from Stevens in the Class of 1969. Throughout his career, Donald forged a path from pre-med student up to becoming the Chief of Medicine at St. Louis City Hospital and a professor at St. Louis University. With The Division of Infectious Diseases at St. Louis University, he oversaw developments in immunology and vaccine research for over 20 years. In 2020, he became a “COVID Czar” during the pandemic due to his familiarity with prevention policies for communicable diseases. With host Ed Eichhorn, Donald describes what changes he has seen as a physician from the 1970’s and onward, the many career path choices he was presented with and how others can approach such decisions in their own careers.

Phil Crowley - Class of 1971

Phil Crowley graduated from Stevens in the Class of 1971, majoring in Physics, as well as from Harvard with an MS in experimental physics. He would also acquire a JD from Columbia Law School.  Phil has utilized his knowledge in both law and science while moving from Wall Street firms to Johnson & Johnson and then to his own firm, Crowley Law, LLC, where he is the Managing Partner. Throughout his career, he’s offered legal assistance to charities and worked to provide scholarships to children in failing schools. With host Ed Eichhorn, Phil guides us through his initial studies, how he managed to apply his scientific background in his legal career, and his experience in helping entrepreneurs realize their dreams. Paul Rea - Class of 2006

Paul Rea graduated from Stevens in 2006 with a degree in Computer Engineering. His career has gone down several paths during and after his college career, ranging from ventures in architecture to broadcasting, among others. After a series of life-changing health events and procedures, he would go on to found the medical device company Ostoh, which aims to make the lives of those living with an ostomy easier.
