The Spirit of Sonship | Apostle Bheki Gamedze

“But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son… that we might receive adoption to sonship.” – Galatians 4:4–5 In this message, Apostle Bheki Gamedze explores the contrast between a slave and a son, explaining that while a slave does not inherit, a son has an inheritance because of their position in the family. He highlights the consequences of fatherlessness seen in society and explains that the antidote to the orphan spirit is the Spirit of Sonship. Exploring the meaning and etymology of adoption, he shows how God brings us into a position of identity, belonging, and inheritance. Drawing from Ephesians 4:1–15, he teaches that the gifts of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers are given to equip believers for maturity. The measure we are called to grow into is not the gifts or the people carrying them, but “the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13).True maturity means being grounded in truth, not being tossed around by every trend, teaching, or deception, but learning to speak the truth in love.
