Are You Overlooking These Opportunities? Ep: 110

Most practitioners ask, "How do I get more clients?" But what if that's the wrong question? This week, Cassandra Duffill steps away from SEO, emails and referrals. We've covered those to death. Instead, she asks what your clients might already be telling you, and whether you're listening. Hear why the same frustration keeps coming up in consultations, and what it might be telling you about your next offer. Find out why adding five new appointment types could confuse your clients rather than help them. And learn why your next qualification probably won't be the thing that grows your practice. Sometimes the gap isn't what you offer. It's how people can reach you. If you're ready to make your practice more valuable to the people you're best equipped to help, press play. Are We Giving Clients Too Much? Valuable Service Design: Ep 109

When did a consultation become a show bag? Six supplements, a food plan, three handouts, a symptom tracker, a list of lifestyle changes and a follow-up email with even more instructions. As practitioners, we can look at all of that and think we've delivered incredible value. But what happens when the client gets home, looks at everything and has absolutely no idea where to start? In this episode of The Abundant Practitioner , I'm questioning something that's become increasingly common in our industry: the idea that giving clients more automatically means giving them better care. We talk about why practitioners feel pressured to keep adding more to their consultations, how good intentions can unintentionally create overwhelm, and why a treatment plan that's clinically comprehensive isn't always one that's realistic for the person trying to follow it. I'm also sharing a few experiences from my own practice, including how easy it is to create expectations around ongoing access that you never intended to offer. And there's a business side to this conversation, too. Because that $220 consultation might look profitable on paper, but what happens when you add the hours spent researching, writing plans and answering questions between appointments? The question isn't whether you're giving clients enough. It's whether what you're giving them is genuinely helping. If you've ever finished a consultation feeling you've given everything you've got, only to wonder why the client didn't follow through, this one's worth a listen. I'd love to know: Have you found yourself adding more and more to your consultations over the years? And is all of it still serving your clients, or your business? Forget the Competition: Build a Market of One: Ep 108

Are you buildilng the practice you really want? Or is comparisonitis getting in the way? It's easy to get caught up comparing prices, qualifications, services, websites and social media. But here's the thing: just because another practitioner has the same qualifications or works with the same health conditions doesn't mean you're competing for the same clients. And standing out isn't necessarily about inventing a new modality, creating a signature program or finding an increasingly narrow niche. In this episode of The Abundant Practitioner , I'm exploring what it really means to build a market of one, why being different isn't the same as being desirable, and how to position your practice so potential clients understand why they'd choose you. In this episode, we cover: Why competitor comparison can distract you from growing your own practice. The difference between being different and being desirable to potential clients. Why qualifications, modalities and niches aren't enough to make you stand out. The four decisions that help you create your own market of one. How to identify what clients genuinely value about your approach. Why your client experience and booking process are part of your positioning. How removing friction can be more valuable than adding more services or inclusions. Why building a distinct practice also means deciding what you're not going to do. How to make your positioning visible across your website, services and reputation. You don't need to win someone else's competition. You need to build the practice you long to have. Authenticity Fatigue and the Content-Creation Treadmill: Ep 107

When did being a practitioner become a content creation job? Post three times a week. Make Reels. Show your face. Tell your story. Be vulnerable. Build a personal brand. Repurpose everything. Feed the algorithm. And if it isn't working? Apparently, you just need to be more consistent. No wonder so many practitioners are completely exhausted by marketing. But what if the problem isn't that you're bad at marketing? What if you've simply been spending far too much time on one part of it? In this episode of The Abundant Practitioner , I'm unpacking the content-creation treadmill, the rise of what I call authenticity fatigue , and why producing more content isn't necessarily going to bring more clients into your practice. I'm also talking about the difference between content creation, visibility and actual marketing, and where I'd rather see practitioners putting their limited time if the goal is to build a practice that gets found, understood, trusted and booked. I'll share what's currently producing client flow in my own practice without me having to live on social media, and why things like your website, copy, search visibility and even some decidedly old-school marketing deserve a lot more attention than they're getting. Because social media is just a channel. It isn't a business model, it isn't a marketing strategy, and it certainly isn't your job description. 🎧 Authenticity Fatigue and the Content-Creation Treadmill Cassandra Duffill - Practice Growth Strategist & Mentor I share the roadmap to build a successful practice in my book, The Abundant Healer, that you can buy now on Amazon - BUY BOOK Let's Chat - Send an instant message now Enrolling Now - Momentum Mentoring One-to-One Mentoring to grow your practice. What’s the Focus for Q4? The 3 Things I’d Be Doing in My Practice: Ep 106

Christmas is suddenly feeling a little too close, isn't it? And this is the point in the year where practice owners can start doing some strange things. Maybe you're looking at everything you haven't achieved this year and wondering how you're going to cram it into the next three months. Or perhaps you've already started mentally winding down and telling yourself you'll get serious again in January. Neither is particularly helpful. In this episode of The Abundant Practitioner , I'm sharing the three things I'd be focusing on in Q4 to finish the year well without spending the next few months frantically chasing goals . We're talking about the money you actually need before Christmas, what you're doing now that could determine how January looks, and how to take a proper break without sitting beside the pool secretly stressing about your practice. I'll also share what I definitely wouldn't be doing in Q4, and how to work out where your attention needs to go based on what's actually happening in your practice right now. Because your Q4 strategy doesn't need to be complicated. It needs to be deliberate. 🎧 What’s the Focus for Q4? Is Your Practice Invisible to AI? (and how to fix it): Ep 105

The way clients find practitioners is changing. Google, SEO, referrals and directories still matter, but there’s now another layer in the mix. More people are asking AI to help them find the right practitioner for a specific problem. Which raises a pretty important question: If someone asked AI to recommend a practitioner who does exactly what you do, would your practice even show up? I’ve been paying very close attention to this while rebuilding Health Haven, particularly because new clients are now telling me they found the clinic after AI recommended it. In this episode, I’m breaking down what I’ve learned about AI visibility, what could be making your practice difficult to find, and how to work out whether AI actually understands who you are, what you do and who you help. We’ll also talk about why some of the things practitioners have been told are suddenly “dead” are very much alive, why your website matters more than you might think, and the surprisingly simple things that can affect whether your practice is understood and recommended online. And no, this isn't about adding another 47 marketing jobs to your list or becoming an AI expert. It’s about making sure your practice isn’t quietly becoming invisible as the way people search changes. If consistent client flow matters to your practice, this is one I’d listen to. Are You Charging Enough? The Pricing Maths Most Practitioners Never Do: Ep 104

How did you decide what to charge for your consultations? Did you look at what everyone else was charging? Pick a number that felt reasonable? Add $10 every couple of years? Or, if we're being completely truthful, did you basically make it up when you started your practice and keep tweaking it from there? Pricing is one of those subjects that gets surprisingly messy for practitioners. Because it's never just about the number. There's affordability. Accessibility. What your competitors charge. The fear of losing clients. The guilt that can come with putting your prices up. And that delightful little voice asking, Who am I to charge that? But underneath all of that is a much more practical question: What does your service actually need to cost for your practice to work? In this episode of The Abundant Practitioner , we're getting into both sides of pricing: the maths behind what your services really cost to deliver, and the mindset that can make charging appropriately feel surprisingly uncomfortable. And there are costs hiding inside your consultations that you may never have considered. That $180 one-hour appointment, for example, might not actually be earning you anywhere near $180 an hour. In fact, when you start calculating the real time and costs involved in delivering your services, you may discover that the price you've been charging for years doesn't make commercial sense at all. Or you might discover that your prices aren't actually the problem. We'll also talk about why I think practitioners need to stop trying to “charge their worth” , why copying the practitioner down the road can be a terrible pricing strategy, and the difference between making your services accessible and quietly making your entire practice financially unsustainable. This is a deep-dive episode, so grab a notebook. Because I don't want you to finish this episode and immediately put your prices up. I want you to finally understand the business underneath the price. Let's Chat - Send an instant message now Enrolling Now - Momentum Mentoring One-to-One Mentoring to grow your practice. 8 Things I’d Fix Before Doing More Marketing: Ep 103

It’s very easy to assume that when your practice needs more clients, the answer is more marketing. Post more. Run some ads. Pay someone for SEO. Try another platform. Finally work out what the heck you’re supposed to be doing on TikTok. But what if marketing isn’t actually the thing you need to fix? Because getting more people to notice your practice doesn’t necessarily mean more of them will become clients, particularly if there are problems elsewhere in the business. And sometimes, more marketing simply sends more people into a system that isn’t working particularly well. In this episode of The Abundant Practitioner , I’m looking at the things I’d want working properly before putting more time or money into marketing. Some of them are incredibly simple. Some are probably costing practices far more clients than they realise. And one of your most valuable marketing assets might already be sitting inside your business doing very little at all. I also talk about when I would consider investing in paid marketing, because I'm certainly not anti-marketing. But I do think we need to stop treating it like a magic lever we can pull whenever client numbers are down. Because paid marketing can amplify what's already working. It can't resuscitate a practice that struggling. If you've been wondering whether you need to do more marketing, this episode might give you a very different place to start. Your Diary Is Full - But Are You Actually Profitable? Ep: 102

A full diary. Clients booked weeks ahead. No room for anyone new. Surely that means the business is doing well? Not necessarily. I've worked with practitioners who are incredibly busy; sometimes at absolute capacity; yet when we look more closely at what's happening behind the scenes, the financial picture tells a very different story. Because busy and profitable are not the same thing. And there are costs inside a practice that are incredibly easy to overlook. The hour you spend with a client isn't necessarily the only hour you're spending on that client. The money hitting your bank account isn't the money you're actually making. And a diary packed with appointments isn't necessarily filled with the right appointments. In this episode of The Abundant Practitioner , we're getting into the numbers behind a busy practice, including the hidden work that can dramatically change what you're actually earning. I also share the story of one fully booked practitioner who discovered that, once we did the maths, she was effectively earning just $15 an hour . Yep. While fully booked. If your practice is busy but you're still wondering where all the money goes , this episode might explain a few things. Because getting booked out isn't the finish line. It's the point where you need to start asking a completely different set of questions about your business. Your Follow-Up Is Probably Costing You Clients: Here's What I'd Fix: Ep 101

Follow-up is one of those decidedly unsexy parts of running a practice. It’s also potentially one of the most profitable. Almost a year ago, I recorded an episode about follow-up that went on to become one of the most listened-to episodes of The Abundant Practitioner . And there was one number in that episode that was particularly difficult to ignore: 40%. Which was the amount of extra clients you can convert, with the right follow up system. So I decided it was time to revisit the conversation. Because follow-up in your practice is much bigger than sending a polite email after a discovery call, and there are probably far more places where you're dropping the ball than you realise. In this episode, we're looking at what a proper follow-up process can look like across the entire client journey, why people disappearing doesn't necessarily mean they've decided against working with you, and the seemingly innocent gaps that can quietly cost you clients you've already worked bloody hard to attract. And no, this isn't about chasing people, sending awkward “we miss you!” messages or building 27 automations before lunchtime. It's about making it easier for people to take the next step when they're ready, and making sure your practice isn't relying on you remembering to follow everything up manually. If you've ever had an enquiry disappear, a discovery call go nowhere, a client vanish halfway through treatment or someone tell you “I've been meaning to book in for months” ... This one is worth a listen. Because “not now” and “never” are two very different things.
