Episode 08-2023: Exploring Authentic Leadership

Earlier this summer, I had the honor of meeting Daron Moore, an amazing Org Development and Learning Executive, while serving on a panel of The Learning Exchange Conference, hosted by the Black in L&D Community. Daron was our panel moderator, and from our first conversation...we knew our conversation would require more time and opportunity to dig in and listen to one another's stories. Daron is a strategist, mobilizer, and change catalyst devoted to personalizing growth through the employee experience with over 15 years helping bridge the gap between organizations and the organisms that make them great. A compelling keynote speaker, online educator, full-time father of 3, and part-time coach and mentor. He's grounded in the power of people and passionate about unleashing potential. Our session explores the powerful impact Authentic Leadership has on our sense of identity, and purpose, and how we build and show up for others. Daron shares his teachable point of view on the importance of taking care of your personal "Nucleus" and the value of spending time with yourself by yourself. It is not only valuable...it's critical.

Episode 07-2023: Exploring the Impact of Code-Switching and the Workplace

Episode #7 has blown doors open for me, in more ways than I probably express here without writing an essay. LOL One of the most critical reasons for launching the #ConvergingConversations podcast was to explore topics that are compelling, intriguing and to give space and voice to the stories of others. Story is how we make sense of ourselves in the world, our communities and more… In this episode, we dig into the concept of #CodeSwitching, and how people are impacted by it. We explore it through the spaces we occupy:  Work, The Military, The Church, and so much more.  (Whew!!  This was RICH!!)   Our Episode Panel?  Well, I'll let their intros speak for them:   Turiya Gray  - Turiya is a Human Resources executive with upwards of 20 years’ experience, currently serving as Chief People Officer at Chicago-based tech company, Jellyvision. Episode 06-2023: Exploring the Evolution of Change Management...A Practitioner's Perspective

The world of #ChangeManagementProfessionals is big…but, also a small town.  Many of us know each other, know of one another, and many of us…have had the honor of working together. So, today's episode is a labor of love.    Dare I say, this isn't an episode…it's a #Masterclass. And, we've already agreed to unpack several of these dimensions individually in the (near) future in future episodes. (Yay!) Our Guests, are the Leadership Team of the Association of Change Management Professionals, Atlanta Chapter Leadership Team.   Marisa Miller - Marisa Miller is a strategic leader with more than 20 years of experience delivering enterprise-wide organizational change initiatives. Her proficiency in big-picture thinking combined with laser-sharp skills in sales enablement, business process improvement, and operations efficiency makes her both well respected and highly sought after across the business landscape; from 100+-year-old Fortune 500’s to start-ups seeking Series A funding; publicly traded companies to privately held, non-profit agencies.   Danyelle Jinks - Danyelle Jinks, the creator, and founder of u[Verb] is a coach, organizational developer, and change management practitioner. She meets her clients where they are to enact transformational change and uses her experience to develop the right strategies and actions to deliver results across multiple business groups spanning 80+ countries. Her primary interest is centered around working with solution-focused leaders to develop people-centered activities that drive sustainable results. She has a proven record of accomplishments in developing and implementing effective change across multiple functions in both Fortune 500 and 1000 companies.   Tiffany Frasier - Tiffany Frasier is all things people. We unpack how the Change discipline has changed over the years, and how it will continue to need to evolve to stay relevant for those practitioners who want to differentiate themselves in the space.  Change is more than a certification…it is an art and a skill.   This is a Super-Sized episode, so join us as we talk, share and laugh together.

This week's episode pulls back the layers of the life of a #MiltaryVeteran, who continues to serve, continues to grow, and continues to tell not just #HerStory…but A #SoldiersStory, and the help, support, and grace our military needs from the communities and organizations they come home to.   My guest, Crystal Ellington is a POWERHOUSE.  Crystal is a dynamic, agile storyteller, who is passionate about speaking up for those who have historically been disenfranchised, systemically excluded, and institutionally oppressed. Episode 02-2023: Exploring Conversations in Black & White (Men's Edition)

While there is so much that makes us unique, and worthy of celebration...there's also so much that makes us the same...that is also worthy of acknowledgment. There are so many misconceptions and assumptions we place on who we think others are, and how they live their lives. We often sum people up by what we see, and what we THINK we know. But, we don't and can't know someone else's story…until we invite them into a safe and sacred space…so they can share themselves with us, in their own words…on their own terms. This episode explores the journey, careers, lives, and hearts of two amazing men. They are leaders, fathers, husbands, and creators...who were willing to come together to be open, and honest and to share a glimpse of what it's like to be men...in Black and White. We welcome Kason Morris and Colin Mulholland to share their stories with us...and one another.
