7th Annual Great Community Give - Valley Program for Aging Services

Great Community Give is a community wide giving day for local partner nonprofit organizations, April 17, 2024 from 6:00am to 8:00pm.  All online donations this day will be through www.greatcommunitygive.org and/or given directly via cash and check gifts. All donations are tax-deductible. We are joined by: Valley Program for Aging Services' Beth Bland, Executive Director, and Joyce Nussbaum, Director of Senior Services, Harrisonburg-Rockingham County.VPAS is the premier organization in the Central Shenandoah Valley for supporting successful aging in place. The VPAS staff are your local experts in aging. Whether you are approaching retirement, or well beyond, their staff can help you navigate the joys and challenges that come with aging and caregiving. Once accessed, VPAS provides a supportive network to assist you as your needs may change over time.

7th Annual Great Community Give - Harrisonburg Dance Cooperative

Great Community Give is a community wide giving day for local partner nonprofit organizations, April 17, 2024 from 6:00am to 8:00pm.  All online donations this day will be through www.greatcommunitygive.org and/or given directly via cash and check gifts. All donations are tax-deductible. We are joined by: Lara Mack, President of the Harrisonburg Dance Cooperative.The Harrisonburg Dance Cooperative (HDC) aims to provide experienced dance artists in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County with opportunities to amplify their individual artistic voices. Through live performances, classes, forums, and collaborations with artists from various mediums, HDC cultivates a vibrant and passionate appreciation for the art of dance within the local community.

We are joined by: Amanda Bomfim, Director of Marketing & Program Initiatives for The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg & Rockingham County; Emani Morse, and Russell Leary, Co-CEOs of On the Road Collaborative.Great Community Give is a community wide giving day for local partner nonprofit organizations, April 17, 2024 from 6:00am to 8:00pm.  All online donations this day will be through www.greatcommunitygive.org and/or given directly via cash and check gifts. All donations are tax-deductible. The traditional school day is no longer enough to fully meet the needs of all of our youth, especially those experiencing a learning gap. Underserved youth need more time for academic practice, more connection to a network of caring adult mentors, and more access to quality learning experiences outside of the school day.​ At On the Road Collaborative, they believe it’s about meeting every young person where they are. By offering additional out-of-school learning opportunities and connecting them to resources and caring adults, we can journey with them as they go after their biggest goals.

All donations are tax-deductible.  Mercy House is a nonprofit organization with multiple programs combating poverty and homelessness in Harrisonburg, Virginia. As a provider of family shelter, rapid re-housing and homelessness prevention services; our agency is committed to restoring our clients to self-sufficiency by addressing the barriers and challenges that led to housing instability or experiencing homelessness. Mercy House serves the City of Harrisonburg, and provides services to clients within Rockingham, Augusta, and Page Counties.
