Leadership Series Wrap Up

Leadership is a topic so so dear to my heartI understand how as a leader you shape the culture and strategic direction of an organisation but an even greater responsibility is shaping others and their experiences. This can be difficult, because as people we are so layered and complex. Managing others and not only that but becoming a pinnacle leader has many layers. As a woman in STEM who’s worked in engineering and technology I’m not a stranger to those layers. In fact I know how it can be complex to navigate them as a woman. A black woman who’s the first to even be a manager in their family and community. At some point I studied executives when I was in a graduate program and wanted to act like them, a disaster!I crafted this series with intention, in hopes to heal those that have had traumatic experiences as leaders and from leaders. I also crafted it to give us hope, that when we know better we can do better; that WE and the next generation can be pinnacle leaders. I hope you enjoyed this series of love letters; may it be a reminder that the world needs you as you are…..

Personal Mastery as the New Leadership Currency in an Age of Disruption with Khethiwe Nkuna

In this powerful conversation, I sit down with Khethiwe Nkuna, bestselling author of Tear Her Down, to unpack why personal mastery has become the new currency of leadership. Together, we explore what it truly means to lead when the ground is constantly shifting, when answers are unclear, certainty is rare, and resilience, self-awareness, and inner alignment matter more than ever before. We confront the often-unspoken behaviours that signal a lack of self-awareness, examining the quiet but profound cost they carry for individuals, teams, and organisations. This is an honest reflection on how leadership fractures when self-mastery is absent and what becomes possible when it is present.  Together, we reflect on how leaders can cultivate clarity in chaos, build emotional and mental endurance, and choose intention over reaction. Leadership starts from within. This episode is a love letter; a call to leaders, both young and seasoned, to look inward, to heal, to face themselves fully, and to do the inner work required before leading

Leading with the Heart with Omphile Kgwathe-Nkiwane

Leading with empathy isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about having the courage to listen, to feel and lead from a place of humanity. In this vulnerable yet deeply personal conversation with Omphile Kgwathe-Nkiwane we explore what it  really means to lead with empathy as a woman. Holding space whilst holding boundaries, choosing compassion without losing authority and knowing when to leverage strength or softness. When we lead in a truly human way, we create cultures where people feel seen, heard, and safe to be the best version of themselves. This love letter is for leaders who have perhaps become too hard and forgotten the importance of empathy. It’s also for aspiring leaders who want to show up as their authentic selves without compromising their values. It’s a gentle reminder that you can be a force and yet delicate!!!

The ones who questioned whether leadership was meant for them simply because they weren’t the loudest in the room.
