Welcome everyone to the first Z DevOps Talks episode of 2026! As fate would have it, both Chris and David happened to be in the same place at the same time for once, and it happened to be in Orlando at the SHARE Conference. Plot twist: Chris was actually attending SHARE, David was just hanging out. What are the odds??? As promised in the episode, we are hopeful to be able to interact with our listeners more this year! We're still working out the details on a few things, but until then, we suggest joining the System Z Enthusiasts Discord server at https://discord.gg/sze where we're going to post updates. Thanks for listening, from the bottom of our hearts.

In this episode, David and Chris talk with.... a whole lot of people. Might be tied for our largest guest group yet! We had Mohit Satoskar, Neha Shah, and Gerald Mitchell on to discuss IBM's Test Accelerator for Z testing product: what it is, what it does, how it does what it does, and cool features that have been released recently. Enjoy the listen, and check out the product here!

In this episode, David is live on the scene (back in August) at SHARE! He was able to catch up with Paul Buchanan from Ensono and have a great conversation. Enjoy!

In this episode of zDevOps Talks, David and I were able hook Frank De Gilio! This is big news, in case you weren't aware, Frank has run a very successful, very entertaining and informative podcast called Terminal Talk over the years and he is one big fish that we were hoping to get on our show. We talk simplification, the rebel alliance, and more on re:ipl (you can almost think of it as a semi-part-two of our last episode with Steven Perva). Have a listen, it's a great talk!

In this episode, Steven Perva is back again to talk about his unconference, re:ipl. This year will be the second time he has hosted this conference and it sounds like a really good time. He also is founded the System Z Enthusiasts Discord server, found here: https://discord.gg/szeJoin to talk all things Z with fellow Z enthusiasts.

In this episode, we (Chris and David) finally get to sit down in the same room and talk! David got a new job and it's somewhere between being a Client Technical Professional (or CTP, aka Tech Seller) and an architect, and he couldn't be happier. Listen in as he explains what he does, how he does it, and why he is so excited about the role. We talk about the importance of the big picture when it comes to Z technical topics and how he's able to fit in and shine his light.

In this episode, we get up with Ethan Mendel, who works on IBM watsonx Code Assistant for Z and the Code Explanation features in the aforementioned tool. Ethan sheds light on how this changes the landscape of understanding code bases and makes for super quick knowledge transfer. Oh, and David got a new job! In this episode, Ian Mitchell and Sean Gillespie join and talk about what it means to "travel light" when embarking on a DevOps transformation journey. We get in to the idea of evaluating (and even rethinking) current practices, how tools are only part of the solution, and what has worked for teams across the globe to modernize and thrive in today's development landscape. In this episode, we talk with Steven Perva of Ensono. He is a current IBM Champion and speaks about what it means to be a champion, what it takes to get the title, and how important advocacy is in the z/OS world. As a bonus topic, we also discuss IDEs and the future of development, so be sure to listen through the whole program!During the episode, Steven talks about a Discord server he set up, the System Z Enthusiasts Discord server.
