About the show

Howdy! Too Busy For Crypto is a podcast to learn and articulate ideas related to finance and cryptocurrency. Most people don't have time to be watching hours of Youtube videos, where most of the best crypto education currently exists. People also don’t have time to sort through a mountain of indiscriminate shilling of trash in order to find useful content. ...If you listen, what will you learn? You will learn about finance, markets, fake crypto vs real crypto, the Ethereum network, and HEX. I am a fan of freedom and financial literacy. This podcast is a hobby where I share my passion about these topics with those of you who are interested in learning more or in better articulating what you know. Above all, remember: (1) real crypto is a tool to avoid middlemen and censorship, and (2) "not your keys, not your coins".

Zero Knowledge Peer to Peer (zkp2p)

This episode is like an audio-book chapter on the topic of a technology called ZKP2P. This has broad possibilities around verifying private details from two sides of a transaction without sharing those details from one side to the other. In cryptocurrency, the current implementation is around on-ramping from fiat currency to crypto currency. You will listen to me reading nerdy descriptions of ZKP2P and giving impressions on the meanings. This is important technology and we hope it can be developed and used by people who believe in raising real crypto over fake crypto. It is the basis for ProveX on PulseChain. Cryptocurrency is a tool that helps you to learn to free yourself and to take more personal responsibility for your life. The best forms of crypto emphasize action-based ideals like spreading truth instead of fantasy, spreading peace instead of war, and spreading independence instead of slavery. The potential for making money is definitely the first draw of most people to crypto, and this is a serious possibility. Only a Simple Chad stops there and does not learn why it exists in the first place and the factors behind that potential. Enjoy the intro and outro music, paid, royalty-free, not an ad. Hoops, EU AMLR, No There There

This episode is thoughts and news-ish topics. Topic 1 of 3, I discuss a question I have about how people are willing to jump through hoops for things that are useless to them versus for things that could impact them positively, relative to using technology. This is one of those phenomena that is kind of just a fact of life (so, who cares? move on.), but I think there is value in examining this behavior if it improves our understanding of others and of self. Topic 2 of 3 is a high-level mention of the EU AMLR. This is a 94 page law that takes effect in the European Union in July 2027, to unify the means and methods of authoritarian financial surveillance and control over the overly compliant Euro Sheep for the same fake reasons the predator class cites for everything. Time will tell what additional effect it has on fake crypto and on people trying to get into real crypto. Topic 3 of 3 is about a webpage for a wallet. When I began looking at it, my interest was lured by the appearance that it was connected to something official or in legacy finance, but as I examined it, it dawned on me that I was wasting my time. You get to hear this reaction in real time. Part of this includes the topic of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China +), which is a term that began in the context of non-Western investments, and has since become a term associated with non-Western de-dollarization. If you do not understand the history and meanings of terms like this, these terms can be used against you to make you create false associations and logical fallacies in your own mind. Cryptocurrency is a tool that helps you to learn to free yourself and to take more personal responsibility for your life. The best forms of crypto emphasize action-based ideals like spreading truth instead of fantasy, spreading peace instead of war, and spreading independence instead of slavery. Interpreting News: MM Hack

This episode starts with an overview of some crypto basics and then discusses a September 30 2026 news story. This news story named Metamask but it turns out it doesn't have anything to do with Metamask wallets. I read and interpret the news story based on the information in an official post and a news story in order to provide some thought process. I believe the vast majority of people cannot process a crypto-related news story because (a) their brain shut outs anything on that topic, or (b) they do not have a comfortable familiarity with accurate crypto concepts. Whatever your level of understanding, this exercise is meant to be helpful, thought provoking, and to improve your comfort with the topics. Cryptocurrency is a tool that helps you to free yourself in the context of computer-based transactions, and in the context of taking more personal responsibility for your life. Crypto "wallets" are actually crypto keychains that allow you to interact with the blockchain network by submitting orders or seeing the status of coin assignments to your address that you can choose to send (liquid holdings). Validators are computers running blockchain software in a participatory capacity. Each validator is one node on a many-node network, and crypto rewards are sent to working validators as part of a blockchain protocol for incentivizing security and truth. Independence, Proof, Action

This episode begins with thoughts about core traits of real cryptocurrency, given in different terms than I normally use. Independence, Proof, and Direct Action are similar terms to peer-to-peer, trustless (free of needing to trust), avoiding middlemen and gate-keepers and censorship-resistance. Sometimes the terms used in cryptocurrency sound complex or negative (in the psychology sense), but we arrive at these terms because our form of civilized society has removed us from a way of conducting ourselves in the world which in past times used to be simpler and self-evident. The times I mean are before the industrial revolution and education devolution. For most of the episode, I use a couple social media posts from Richard Heart as a jumping off point to discuss stupid crypto news and things. My intent here is to be conversational and give a first impression on news and things with some background on the thought process of someone approaching from cryptocurrency first principles like I first mentioned, without going into exhaustive depth. I encourage you to do your own research, aka reading and thinking for yourself. Independence, Proof, Action. If you are totally lost about this, go read the first page of the Bitcoin Whitepaper. So much of "the crypto space" is fake crypto that boldly rejects the core purposes of real crypto. Thank you for listening! Music from #Uppbeat, paid-for royalty-free tracks, not an ad. Privacy vs Monero

An overview of the privacy concepts related to Monero, a fork of a fork of CryptoNote. Most cryptocurrencies do not have privacy features, they are just simple ledgers with a send function to move numbers from one address to another. What typically exists natively is a thin layer of privacy called pseudonymous public addresses. Most cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin are almost fully transparent by design. We wish that central banks and governments were transparent, but they are desperate to stay hidden and will lock you in a cage to keep it that way. What are they hiding? They like to tell us that if you aren’t doing anything wrong then there is nothing to hide. For them, transparency is what we want. Sometimes we want transparency in crypto, but for many transactions we would prefer more privacy. People and businesses generally don’t want others seeing what is in their account or what they spent on other people and things. It is natural and proper for private individuals and private businesses to have this kind of privacy. Monero employs some math based solutions to create more transaction privacy through obfuscation. It is not perfect, but it is an interesting, ongoing project. At the time of publishing this, I have not and do not use Monero, and I do not know it’s future. It is a layer 1 blockchain, which has and can update, and is not immutable, like all major layer 1 blockchains. If you have not spent the time to learn anything about Monero and you think your all your personal transactions should have a way to not be broadcast globally, then take an hour to listen. This is Too Busy For Crypto. This podcast is for fans of cryptocurrency who want to increase their financial literacy and cryptocurrency literacy. I am not an expert. I am an enthusiast. This podcast is my hobby and is for education. This episode is titled Privacy vs Monero, or, Hiding in Plain Sight Theory Music from #Uppbeat, paid-for royalty-free tracks, not an ad. Step 1

Back for 2026! Two things got me motivated to make an episode. One is what I feel is mundane full spectrum censorship. The other is what I call "Step 1", things you are supposed to know before Step 2 but most people don't have the time or curiosity to figure out, leading to a persistent disadvantage. Royalty-free music intro and outro added, that's kinda fun. Using a new program and a new room and figuring out the sound. RNG RNG RNG, do you know what a RNG is? Do you have dice handy? Come listen, maybe you will learn something, or think about something, or maybe my voice will lull you to sleep. Win, win, win situation! I think this may be my last "clean" episode if I start getting looser with the vocabulary and have to mark it as "explicit" in the future. Lastly, remember: real crypto = avoid middlemen. The Crypto Cycle

The Crypto Cycle is based primarily on Bitcoin "halvening", which occurs roughly every 4 years, and is hard coded into Bitcoin via block heights. The phrase "crypto cycle" has taken on secondary meanings, like the bull and bear market cycles in crypto. It is helpful to understand the Bitcoin inflation model and why it results in secondary effects, whether one is a crypto participant or not. In early 2025, HEX has undergone an indirect sort of halvening event through the staking mechanism. A couple larger issues to consider are: who has validation majority, and, how much of the total supply is active? If you are aware of everything I say in this episode, then you are far more aware than the average person.

About Wallet Loading and Linux Dashboard

What was meant to be a 1-2 minute housekeeping note turned into a 17+ minute episode. I discuss getting Internet Money Wallet to connect effectively to HEX Mining front end version 1.0.8. I also discuss loading the PulseChain Dashboard in Linux OS Ubuntu. If the most recent official front end for HEX Mining (version 1.0.8) is not loading lightning fast, and you are using an Internet Money Wallet, then try this: 1) go to wallet settings, change Disguise As Metamask to ON 2) DEACTIVATE the wallet extension in the chromium browser extension manager 3) reload the HEX front end page (could be IPFS weblink, or exe or via PulseChain Dashboard) 4) RE-ACTIVATE the wallet extension (already disguised as Metamask) 5) Connect wallet to HEX front end page and pick a public address to connect 6) Authorize to connect that public address in the wallet popup 7) HEX Mining page should load all historical data from the blockchain in a couple seconds. DONE. I talk through the above steps as I discover the page is not loading after I setup the Linux version of the PulseChain Dashboard. I talk through the Linux stuff because most people have no idea what is Linux or how to do anything with Linux. It is more involved than clicking an exe file but it is easy as far as Linux goes. My hope is that the housepet that is listening to this show by accident can get the most out of any time spent working on crypto tasks.

Community Links - PulseChain Dashboard

A talkthrough of downloading and using the PulseChain Dashboard, which is an unofficial community-created tool to that can operate locally, private and encrypted on your computer. View PulseChain information and run apps locally like the PulseChain Explorer, PulseChain Bridge, HEX Mining, and PulseX (Decentralized Exchange). Link: https://gitlab.com/pulsechain-lunagray/pulsechain-dashboard No Affiliation. Just a cool tool.

Community Links - HEX Scout

A quick talkthrough of what I see on the community-run site HEXscout. I also mention the browser extension wallet called Internet Money. The purpose of this episode is to point out a site that is a resource regarding HEX that is made by community members. I have no affiliation with anything I mention. I want people who are too busy for crypto to find useful information and then become more interested in making time for crypto. HEXscout is linked on the official HEX.com website as a front-end. Besides charts and education, you can find front-ends for an on-ramp, a DEX for swapping on Ethereum, a DEX for PulseChain, and a staking front end for either. I did not use these front ends, I just note they are there. The site indicates that HEX Scout intends to add features and host an app.
