Sony Dropped Kojima... Xbox Didn't Hesitate | TWAS Ep. 162

Send us Fan Mail Sony basically won this console generation. So why does it suddenly feel like the company keeps finding new ways to piss people off? Episode 162 of This Week at Shrouded gets into Sony's increasingly strange decision-making, the Kojima project discussion, cancelled live-service games, PlayStation's current first-party direction and the bigger problem facing AAA gaming: publishers seem completely unsure what they actually want their business to become. AGreener and Mr. Wrecked also dig into Bungie's latest situation. The studio is looking to sublease more of its massive Bellevue campus, Destiny still has no meaningful new announcement, Paul Tassi is vague-posting again, and supposedly leaked Pastebin material paints a picture of constantly shifting ideas inside Bungie. Emphasis on supposedly. We're not treating anonymous leaks as gospel. Meanwhile, Mr. Wrecked may finally have reached his Destiny breaking point after thousands upon thousands of hours. Then Nintendo shows up with considerably happier news. The latest Nintendo Direct includes a new Metroid, Persona 6, more Switch 2 releases and a full Ocarina of Time remake alongside Zelda's 40th anniversary hardware. Also discussed: 🎮 The state of AAA gaming 🤦 Sony and Xbox somehow both fumbling ☁️ Cloud gaming restrictions 🟢 Nintendo doing Nintendo things ⚔️ Ocarina of Time returns 🔫 War Dogs' extremely rough launch day 🤔 The streamer priority-queue conspiracy 🔥 Onimusha: Way of the Sword impressions 🌲 Valheim 1.0 🤖 AI and game development 🎟️ SGC Season Pass plans 📈 Game XP testing ✨ New animated Profile Auras 🏁 Sparrow Racing League updates And yes, Warframe and Palworld remain SGC Featured Games, future full Season Passes are currently planned around a larger structure, and there's even more profile and progression work happening behind the scenes. 🌐 https://shroudedgaming.com 💬 https://shroudedgaming.com/discord What's the most confusing decision you've seen from Sony or Xbox this generation? #PlayStation #Gaming #GamingNews Support the show

Destiny Fans Took Over State of Play Chat | TWAS Ep. 161

Send us Fan Mail State of Play had plenty of games to show. The chat kept asking for Destiny 3. In Episode 161 of This Week at Shrouded, AGreener and Mr. Wrecked discuss the Destiny demands flooding showcase chats, the Paul Tassi follow-up read during the show, and what would actually count as good news for the community. More support for Destiny 2? Something entirely new? Another remaster? We have opinions, but this is a conversation about possibilities, not a confirmed comeback. Then we get into a different problem: why do we keep finishing games we've stopped enjoying? From Final Fantasy VII Rebirth's side-content burnout to Fable's length debate and The Blood of the Dawnwalker's timer-mod controversy, we argue about whether more content actually makes a better game. Is removing a restriction improving your experience, or removing the reason your choices matter? And is Greener really a completionist, or does he just want the damn platinum trophy? Our State of Play reactions also cover Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Jin Sakai's return, Metro 2039, and Monster Hunter Wilds. Elsewhere, we discuss the Gamescom theft reports, the SteamDB/Nexus Mods debate, and why a concurrent-player graph shouldn't decide whether you're allowed to enjoy something. Mr. Wrecked also shares his Crimson Moon impressions: enjoyable gameplay, frustrating camera and control issues, and a co-op progression complaint that immediately gets us going. On the community side, we're celebrating $120,012.10 raised for charity across SGC's lifetime. Thank you to the donors, stream volunteers, and everyone who helped make that happen. We also cover Warframe and Palworld's featured-game bonuses, Season Pass 0.5 feedback and prestige rewards, the switch to additive loyalty multipliers, and the ten-team Sparrow Racing League. Team registration is closed; the episode explains the exhibition-bounty option for everyone else. Destiny Creators Are Suddenly Being VERY Cryptic... What Do They Know? | TWAS Ep. 160

Send us Fan Mail Something weird is happening around Destiny. No, Destiny 3 hasn't been announced. No, there isn't a confirmed Destiny 1 remake. And no, Bungie hasn't announced that Destiny 2 development is suddenly restarting. So why have Destiny creators started acting like they're communicating exclusively through riddles? Bungie has rehired game-capture artists as freelancers. Aztecross suddenly booted up Marathon after previously saying he wasn't interested unless Destiny had a future. Paul Tassi mentioned there being "smoke." Other creators started dropping their own suspicious posts. And now everyone is asking the same question: Do they actually know something? Episode 160 of This Week at Shrouded dives straight into the Destiny copium as AGreener and Mr. Wrecked try to figure out whether anything is actually happening, whether creators are simply trolling everyone, or whether Sony and Bungie might genuinely be reconsidering Destiny's future. And that's only the beginning. 🎮 GAMESCOM absolutely exploded with news. The Witcher 3 is getting another major comeback with Songs of the Past, modernization improvements and more. Metro 2039 has a release date. Path of Exile 2 finally has its 1.0 date. Gears of War: E-Day showed up again. Final Fantasy VII Revelation got another trailer. And a pile of new games, release dates and surprises landed at once. Then there's The Division 2, which apparently has decided it simply cannot die. Red Horizon is here, there are new seasonal systems and Exotics, the Dark Zone is getting major changes, Echoes of Central Park is coming, Survivors is bringing back ideas from The Division's Survival mode, and Ubisoft somehow has even MORE planned. Meanwhile: 🔵 Destiny creators suddenly start vague-posting 👀 Bungie rehires game-capture artists 🤔 Destiny 3? Destiny 1 remake? ARC Raiders Just Revealed Its Biggest Update Yet... Is It Enough? | TWAS Ep. 159

Send us Fan Mail ARC Raiders is about to get its biggest update since launch. Frozen Trail arrives October 8, and this doesn't sound like another small content drop. We're talking about a completely new settlement beyond the mountains, villages, factories, research facilities, an observatory, much more vertical exploration, new ARC enemies, a huge high-level ARC operation, new weapons, customization, gadgets, progression changes and an entirely new Outpost system. It sounds great. But there's one much bigger question: Is it enough to bring players back? Episode 159 of This Week at Shrouded is packed with gaming news as AGreener and Mr. Wrecked break down what Frozen Trail could mean for ARC Raiders and whether two major updates per year can keep the game moving long term. Then somehow The Division 2 woke up. Broken Rain introduces a new four-player incursion, new rewards, an Exotic ACR, another mission, boosted XP and more, all while Ubisoft prepares for a big Gamescom appearance. So naturally... Division 3 announcement incoming? Maybe. We also get into a huge Overwatch update featuring the new tank Demon, a completely redesigned Battle Pass structure, customizable reward paths, old Battle Pass content potentially returning and Blizzard seemingly moving away from pure FOMO. And then Amazon basically says goodbye to MMOs. New World is heading toward shutdown, while Western operations for Lost Ark and Throne and Liberty are moving elsewhere. Turns out unlimited money doesn't automatically make a successful MMO. PLUS: ❄️ ARC Raiders: Frozen Trail 🏠 The new ARC Raiders Outpost system 🤖 New ARC enemies and high-level activities 🔥 Can Frozen Trail bring former players back? 🟠 The Division 2: Broken Rain 👀 Division 3 at Gamescom? 🛡️ Overwatch's new tank, Demon 🎟️ Overwatch completely rebuilds its Battle Pass 🔓 Old Battle Pass rewards could return 🌴 Palworld's latest quality-of-life update 🔫 Battlefield 6 prepares for Top Gun and Wake Island 🆓 Battlefield 6 gets a free trial week 😈 Diablo IV PTR discussion ⚔️ Diablo II: Resurrected's next ladder 🎮 Gears of War: E-Day open beta 🪖 Hell Let Loose: Vietnam 💀 Amazon gives up on MMOs 📀 Are physical games actually dying? 🎮 Does owning a disc really mean owning a game forever? And, of course, there's a ton happening inside Shrouded Gaming. 🏆 Player of the Month improvements 🎴 New Player of the Month Profile Cards 📜 Historical community winners now tracked back to 2021 🌴 Our Palworld server has moved to a new host 💾 Everyone's Palworld progress survived the move 🏁 The SGC Sparrow Racing Exhibition Season continues 🎟️ Weekly community giveaways continue 🌐 Shrouded Gaming https://shroudedgaming.com 💬 Join the Community https://shroudedgaming.com/discord 🟣 Watch LIVE https://twitch.tv/shroudedgaming ❤️ SGC Charity https://charity.shroudedgaming.com Would Frozen Trail actually convince you to reinstall ARC Raiders? Destiny’s Content Vault Is NOT Back... Here’s What’s Actually Happening | TWAS Ep. 158

Send us Fan Mail Destiny’s vaulted content is coming back! ...Except not really. A community project has managed to use an old Season of Arrivals build of Destiny 2 to access destinations and spaces that disappeared when Beyond Light launched. You can explore them, move through old loading zones, use abilities, ride Sparrows and revisit places that haven't been accessible for years. But before everybody starts celebrating the return of the Red War and Leviathan... There are no functional missions. No encounters. No enemies. No NPCs. No working raid mechanics. So what exactly DID they bring back? That leads off a packed Episode 158 of This Week at Shrouded as AGreener and Mr. Wrecked catch up on everything that happened while we were away. We also recap GCX 2026 and ask whether the convention actually delivered the huge Destiny celebration it had been marketed as. The Destiny retrospective had some genuinely great moments, the theater was packed, and the community clearly still cares deeply about the game. But for a supposed major Destiny farewell? We expected more. Then we get into Marathon's Vault Breaker PvE experiment, why Bungie extended it, what it could mean for Season 3, and why adding PvE does NOT suddenly mean Marathon is becoming some sort of Destiny replacement. Elsewhere this week: 🎮 Destiny 2's community-built Content Vault project 🏛️ Revisiting Leviathan, Io, Titan and other vaulted destinations 🎤 Our GCX 2026 recap 🏁 GCX Sparrow Racing League ❤️ The Destiny retrospective and its emotional farewell moments 🔥 Iron Banner and the continuing SGC bounty system 🔫 Marathon's Vault Breaker PvE mode 🤔 Why Marathon isn't becoming Destiny 3 🌊 Warframe Dog Days 2026 ⚔️ Is Warframe actually the best destination for former Destiny players? 😈 Diablo IV Season 15 PTR changes and some enormous potential nerfs 🟣 Mythic crafting getting significantly easier in Diablo IV 🚢 Battlefield 6, Wake Island and expanded naval warfare 🎮 Custom Battlefield lobbies and spectator tools 🏢 EA's future under private ownership 💰 Why annual sports games and Call of Duty keep getting away with it 🕹️ League of Legends Classic 🌴 Palworld's latest update and the SGC Palworld server 👀 The Division's suspicious Gamescom tease 🚶 Big Walk 💥 Halo: Campaign Evolved ⚙️ The Gears of War: E-Day beta PLUS, Shrouded Gaming has been busy. 🏁 The SGC Sparrow Racing League is underway 🎴 Profile Cards have expanded into a full community reward system 🏆 New cards are available for bounties, game time, events and achievements ❤️ Charity donations can now unlock profile cosmetics 🔗 The new /charity integration is live 🌐 The personalized Shrouded Gaming Charity Hub is online 🎮 The new Featured Game system is being tested 🔥 AND the 48-Hour Extra Life Stream has officially been unlocked! Destiny Without the Grind Feels Good.. So Why Is Everyone Leaving? | TWAS Ep. 157

Send us Fan Mail Destiny finally feels relaxed and fun again. The problem is, that might be because its future is already gone. In Episode 157 of This Week at Shrouded, AGreener and Mr. Wrecked break down the strange new era of Destiny 2. Players are praising the latest content, revisiting everything they never had time to finish, and treating Destiny like a comfort game. At the same time, player numbers are falling faster than expected and the community is beginning to accept what comes next. How Long Can Destiny 2 Last Without Major Updates? - TWAS: Ep 156

Send us Fan Mail Destiny 2 is more active than it has been in a long time, but Bungie's major updates are effectively over. This episode asks how long the current version can keep players, clans, and matchmaking going without a real content pipeline. We also get into Bungie's layoffs, Marathon's uncertain runway, the flood of rare Destiny emblems, AI's growing role in game development, Sony's all-digital direction, and Xbox's latest studio restructuring. Destiny’s Last Big Update Hits Hard - TWAS: Ep 154

Send us Fan Mail Destiny’s final update is here, and this episode is a mix of appreciation, criticism, and a very real sense of ending. We talk through the update itself, the things that landed well, the things that still feel bad, and what it means to keep playing when the game you’ve built a lot of your life around is winding down. There’s also Pantheon, the gauntlet, Trials, the collection changes, the new exotic mission, the updated director and portal, and the bigger question of what comes after Destiny for the community. It’s sentimental, a little messy, and pretty honest about why this one hits harder than a normal TWID episode. ## In This Episode - Destiny’s final update discussion - First impressions of the new changes - What we like about the update - What still feels bad or frustrating - Pantheon and the upcoming gauntlet - Reprised boss lineup discussion - Trials of Osiris returning - The updated new player guide and Monument of Triumph - Story spoilers and the emotional Lodi cutscene discussion - Bungie, Sony, Marathon, and the future of Destiny - Community talk about what comes next after Destiny - SGC updates and upcoming community plans - Catastrophe stream scheduling and event planning ## Weekly Giveaway Winners Congrats to this week’s $10 gift card winners: - zaddymessiah - devilito666 - overdos69 - olie1232 🚀 Join the Shrouded Gaming Community Discord ➡ https://www.shroudedgaming.com/discord Twitter ➡ https://twitter.com/Shrouded_Gaming Twitch ➡ https://www.twitch.tv/shroudedgaming TikTok ➡ https://www.tiktok.com/@shroudedgaming Threads ➡ https://www.threads.net/@shroudedgaming 🕊️ Lightkeepers Legacy - Bungie Foundation https://tilt.fyi/dYlxODNpmJ 🎗️ Extra Life 2026 https://tilt.fyi/YTzLIsdwsQ Like, subscribe, and hit the bell so you never miss the Destiny drama, community wins, or pure podcast chaos.
