One of those rings was with the 1986 NY Mets, one of the most talked about World Championship teams in baseball history. He is one of the greatest hitters in the 65 year legacy of the NY Mets with a home-run record that stood for 37 years. His success on the baseball field came hand-in-hand with well documented personal challenges that included substance abuse, divorces, cancer, & even jail time.
