Show Up Anyway
Ever feel like you have something to say, but the fear of being judged keeps your voice stuck in your throat? I’m back on the Armor Up podcast after a stretch of big life change, and I’m naming the real reason I stopped showing up: I was afraid of being misunderstood again. So I’m returning to the foundation of Armor Up, the biblical principle from Ephesians about putting on the full armor of God, not as religious noise, but as a daily way to protect your mind, anchor your identity, and walk in purpose. I tell a story from a coffee-and-connect meetup in Charlotte that almost sent me back to my car. No parking, a tiny loud coffee shop, not knowing anyone, feeling overstimulated, and honestly thinking I might have a panic attack. The turning point comes when I stop asking, “What do they think of me?” and start asking, “Who can I help?” That one shift changes everything and leads to genuine connection, not networking theater, and a reminder that service is often the fastest route out of self-focused fear. We also go deeper into mindset and spiritual warfare, especially around the stories we tell ourselves and the stories other people tell about us. I talk openly about walking through divorce healing, practicing forgiveness, and surrendering burdens to Jesus day after day. If you’re working on Christian personal growth, emotional resilience, faith-based leadership, or simply learning how to show up with peace, you’ll leave with practical questions to challenge your thoughts and choose truth with consistency. If this speaks to you, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs courage today, and leave a quick review so more people can find Armor Up. What story are you ready to stop believing?
