Impact and Income: The Mission Investor Method

In today’s episode of The Andrea Engstrom Show, I am chatting with my fabulous co-host Brenda Stroud about what it has looked like to be a mission investor in an underserved community. Brenda talks about how she desired to do more than generate income–she wanted to create impact in a community that desperately needed someone to invest, not just their money but their time and care. In this episode, we discuss what it takes to be a mission investor, what it can look like when you have the courage to speak up, reach out, and invest in the real people of a community. Brenda also talks about the importance of doing your research and knowing the market you are entering into. As Brenda always says; be ready and willing to pivot! This week my co-host Brenda and I are chatting with the lovely Sharon Giddings-Davis. Sharon is the author of the book “Fearlessly Become Her” and founder of the company Fearlessly Become Her. In this week’s podcast we get to hear about how Sharon’s book came about, and what led her to make the leap to start encouraging other women to move forward with confidence and courage! Sharon speaks about the way she felt lost after the loss of her mother, who had always been her biggest cheerleader, and how that led her to a place where she wanted to become that cheerleader for other women. We talk about how to break out of a place of fear and people-pleasing and into the place God has called you to be. We also dig into the different “lives” and jobs that Sharon has had and how she finally decided it was time to make the leap. Move forward and don’t look back!
