Overthinking, Old Beliefs, and the Clutter We Keep

SHOW NOTES: Full transcript here: Permission to be Messy Episode 69 Overthinking, Old Beliefs, and the Clutter We Keep Have you ever struggled to let something go, even when you know you don't need it anymore? In this episode of Permission to Be Messy, I'm joined by Cindi Frechette. Cindi is the creator of The Unknow Method and is known by her clients as The Un-Chaos Coach. After nearly 20 years as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Cindi realized that most women don't have a decision-making problem. They're navigating conflicting values, inherited expectations, people-pleasing, and the pressure to make the "perfect" choice, all while carrying an invisible mental load. Through The Unknow Method, Cindi helps women uncover and interrupt the hidden thinking patterns that have been driving their decisions for years so they can stop overthinking, make decisions without guilt, reclaim their energy, and build lives that reflect their own values instead of everyone else's expectations. We talk about why we attach so much meaning to our belongings, why finding the "perfect" place to donate something can keep us stuck, and how recognizing the stories we're telling ourselves can make letting go easier. It's a great conversation about the connection between mental and physical clutter and why getting organized sometimes requires looking beyond the stuff itself. Permission to Be Messy is Back

After nearly two years away, Permission to Be Messy is back! In this short comeback episode, I’m reintroducing the podcast, sharing a little about why I stepped away, and talking about what you can expect as we move forward. One of the biggest changes? Permission to Be Messy is now coming to YouTube, too. I’ve wanted to bring the podcast into video for a while, especially because I’m planning to have more conversations with guests. Of course, adding video also means embracing a little more of the “messy” part. There’s less hiding the mistakes, pauses, and imperfect moments when the camera is rolling, which feels pretty appropriate for this podcast. Going forward, you can expect weekly episodes, many of them featuring guests, along with some solo episodes from me. We’ll explore organization from lots of different angles, including business, finances, legal topics, personal organization, and wherever else the conversations take us. And I’d love your input. Are there topics you’d like me to talk about? People you’d love to hear me interview? Industries or areas of business and life you think we should explore? I’m excited to see where this next chapter of Permission to Be Messy goes. As always, I’m wishing you much progress, peace, purpose, and the permission to be messy.
