Sarah/Hobbsy - work, books, Stan, Sophia, Noo + Dan update

Hello! Another surprise wee episode with another very special guest - sis in law Sarah Mizzi aka trainer Hobbsy. This chat comes with a trigger warning as things become quite heavy discussing Sarah's angel daughter Sophia - please listen with caution if you believe this may be triggering for you. We otherwise discuss a little of everything - an update from Sarah on work, books, Stan, husband Noo (our brother) - and his great culinary skills. And then an update from me with Dan making improvements, going away for a weekend and the wonderful people I have in my world that I'm so grateful for. Thank you for listening - hope you enjoy. Thanks to sis Hobbsy, too - appreciate you. To learn more about Move it Mama visit our website www.moveitmama.co.nz Join the Move it Mama app on the App Store here and the Google Play store here

KIRST POST MARATHON!

Hello! Well what a thrill to have a marathon runner in my bedroom next to me today. No wardrobe in sight just the two of us on the mic debriefing all things marathon. This morning we settle in with Kirst and debrief her first ever 42km run ONLY YESTERDAY! Her sodden feet, her untied shoelaces, some panicked unintended toilet paper rationing and much more. Conditions were testing, and as anyone who has ever ran a race will know - obstacles and hurdles can be part of it! If only just for the fear of both number ones and twos unaccounted for. Does toilet talk and running go hand in hand? Kind of. Kirst is one of our very loved coaches and we are so proud of her and her husband Piers for running the full Sunny but rainy coast marathon together. What a team and an inspo they are. Hope you enjoy our chat! Thank you Kirst. PROUD! Chaos on the mic - the usual debrief

Hello! In true fashion - ie when our feng shui is mucked about and our diaries do stuff to mean we have to record at a time and place other than the usual - life throws us lemons! We had major connectivity issues today - no idea why - must've been fate/the internet knowing we're already going against the grain. Alas, we made it and if you think there are spots where our chat doesn't flow it's because we've tried to edit out the 'where have you gone' silences. We're otherwise in a big cocoon of emotions today talking about the weekend that's been as well as the next little adventure for Jess and family. We're all quite tired and there's some underlying stress but otherwise, we're good. Lots to be grateful for and apologies if we moan too much for your liking. Love you and be back soon. PS - the chat about no one liking us at the end is a joke, said light-heartedly - some days though we find social media a tough gig in that it feels more and more difficult to engage with people - and sometimes it gets us questioning things - which it shouldn't, but we're human. We're grateful. To learn more about Move it Mama visit our website www.moveitmama.co.nz Join the Move it Mama app on the App Store here and the Google Play store here

Kirsty Gordy joins the Monday mixer - mom chat, marathon chat + more

Hello, not a Monday goes by where we don't need to dissect the ins and outs of being parents and the rigmarole that is second guessing ALL YOUR DECISIONS ever. Are we doing this wrong? Who are we breeding? WHAT are we breeding? So many difficult moments come from this gig and if you know us, you'll know by now that sometimes we just need to mull it all over - and in the company of our great pal and MIM trainer, Kirsty Gordy. For those that don't know, Kirst is currently training for her very first marathon - in a few weeks' time on the Sunshine Coast. We hear from Kirst about how she's feeling, what she thinks of marathon training in general and what the plan is. There are all sorts of feelings floating around between the three of us on this topic and it was fun to hear Kirst's thoughts and state of mind. Between marathon chat we're all philosophical about life, kids, moods, TV shows and other such chatter. Love your work Kirst - GET IT GIRL. See you next time xx To learn more about Move it Mama visit our website www.moveitmama.co.nz Join the Move it Mama app on the App Store here and the Google Play store here

Why we're a day late (+ other stories)

Last night we posted about how we recorded our podcast yesterday - as we do - but that it was a complete fail and we decided not to publish it. In response to that post, we were sent some lovely DMs and messages about how, no matter how an episode of the podcast turns out, it's a valuable resource (can we call it that?) for people, and whether we feel it's up to scratch or not, it's useful and enjoyed. Naturally we felt really warm and fuzzy after that, and with another longer and more convenient window of time today, we had the pull to try again. Here we are :) From uncovering what went wrong yesterday to the dynamics of our life stages, to teens, phones, food, hunger cravings and periods, Move with Me, kid stories and the likes - we're here with the usual. Thank you for your support and love, we appreciate it no end xx To learn more about Move it Mama visit our website www.moveitmama.co.nz Join the Move it Mama app on the App Store here and the Google Play store here

Taylor Swift, being hairy, Heated Rivalry takeaways + connection.

Hello! School holiday Monday - first week for Jess, third week for Leece - quite the contrast. Between the school holiday juggle we managed a fun-filled hour to the mic and we're happy to be here (actually locked in the robe again today). Honestly this snippet is quite challenging to pen today as trying to remember what was discussed when you don't take notes in the wardrobe is a tough gig. We take to Taylor Swifts wedding to begin, touch on Heated Rivalry and some takeaways, parenting teens and the letting go, connecting with MIMs in the wild over the saga that is parenting, Jess's impending travel to England as well as other travel dreams, how often we change our tooth brushes and more. Lots of waffle and musings over rigmaroles and a bit of a deep dive into FUN. We received a lovely message over the weekend about the pod - that in a world of INFORMATION OVERLOAD it's nice to check out and listen to waffle rather than be fed MORE. So, we'll take that as a sign. Lots of love x To learn more about Move it Mama visit our website www.moveitmama.co.nz Join the Move it Mama app on the App Store here and the Google Play store here

Hindsight is a wonderful thing - a treacherous morning, rib contouring, overcomplicating exercise, couples counselling teens + MORE

OK here we go back to the mics for your waffly Monday morning. At the time of recording it's 815am in the morning for Leece and she's off the back of a high-stim morning - we can't help but kick things off and go on the journey. Following that, we're touching on everything that's been on our radar these past few weeks. From Rico's health kick to rib contouring, periods and perimenopause, overcomplicating exercise, Move with me (Leece's challenge starting Wednesday), parenting challenges, marriage counselling and HINDSIGHT. Asking lots of big questions as per but mostly just absolutely off our rocker on delivering a chat with no direction or structure. We do hear you verbal nods as you listen along and we also feel versed at pre-empting where we might also ruffle feathers or have you curse at us hehe. Anyway, business as usual and exactly what you might expect for your waffle train Monday, ripe and ready. Love you for being here! A Monday purge

The big question is - are we the only ones up in arms about an airplane? How do they work? Who invented them? And why don't people get off in the orderly fashion anymore? DO YOU? Or are you one of those people who don't wait for the rows in front of you? Send us your thoughts - we promise not to judge (!). It's been a hot minute since we've hit this podcast so a big thank you for your patience and understanding in our absence. We don't ever want to leave the pod in the lurch and do our utmost not to - so thank you for being patient with us about the unexpected hiatus. We're back just scraping the surface on what has been an eventful few weeks for the both of us. We've had the best time together in both Wellington and Christchurch, and the time has been made even more special with extra family members and close friends thrown in the mixer. We talk about airplanes, kids, tantrums, kid sport, kids and phones and a big old NZ trip recap from start to finish. Lots in the mix of it all and hope you enjoy the catch up and relate to some of our Monday musings. See you soon! From the archives - sis'n'law Sarah on infertility & infant loss.

Today we feel so grateful to our other sister in law, Sarah, for very bravely sharing her journey with infant loss and miscarriage. We must preface this podcast to alert you of the fact this conversation may be triggering for some of our audience, as Sarah very courageously opens up about her experience to date; as mother of Stanley, earth side, and sweet Sophia, who flies high up amongst the stars. Sarah is passionate about speaking up and normalising these difficult conversations. We thank you so much sissy, for sharing this with us as well as our listeners. Please remember to be kind, and please remember if you need help, there are many pathways to help available. From our respective wardrobes to you, our dear listener, with love.
