Molehill Mountain Episode 455 – Boycotting Games I’m Not Interested In Playing
I'm a man of principle, after all. 0:00 - Castlevania: Belmont's Curse features an option to enable an option that enables an option to respawn in front of boss doors! 14:54 - Extreme heat and gen AI chatbots' inability to do anything right 22:17 - Criterion Channel's site revamp made the experience measurably worse and their customer service department appears to be managed by an incompetent gen AI chatbot 35:46 - There are some video games I won't play on principle. Even a few I'm interested in! If you missed Saturday’s live broadcast of Molehill Mountain, you can watch the video replay on YouTube. (A technical issue forced me to split the stream in two. PORKY’S | Movie Mandates (Memorable Poster)
Welcome to Movie Mandates, a review show in which sibling cinephiles Andrew and Keleigh force each other to watch movies according to a monthly theme! This month we're watching movies with Memorable Posters so I mandated a movie I remember sitting on video store shelves when I was a kid: PORKY'S. The classic poster depicts an eye peeping at a showering woman through a hole in the wall. What's the movie about? Who is Porky and why does the title use a possessive? I don't know! I never read the back of the box but its front sure left a lasting impression! 0:00 - Trivial Trivia 20:08 - Porky's review 57:37 - Next episode's mandated movie We'll be back in two weeks with another mandated movie. If you'd like to watch it, click here to find where it's streaming or available to rent. If you'd like to watch the video version of Movie Mandates, you can do so on YouTube. Alternatively, you can listen to and audio-only version on iTunes. New episodes of Movie Mandates drop on the first and third Wednesday of every month! Ya gotta start somewhere. 0:00 - The best reaction is no reaction 4:07 - Another political flyer lying about the proposition it doesn't want me to vote for 19:39 - RGG's "automatic English subtitle system" sucks so hard there's little doubt it's gen AI 27:52 - My apartment has adopted an AI chatbot for maintenance requests. It sucks 44:02 - Mr. Records demo is surprisingly good! If you missed Saturday’s live broadcast of Molehill Mountain, you can watch the video replay on YouTube. If they can read the title only don’t like reaction videos that don’t need to watch it. 7:04 PM@RainaharperrrHello 7:06 PM@LeeShowronswell, you can’t do the opposite if you get one that says to do it and not to do it 7:07 PM@LeeShowronsif you get stuff like that, you’re gonna have to just do your own research and study and not listen to the flyers 7:10 PM@eathdemonmy issue with the 5% wealth tax is wealth isnt liquad assets, so co;lecting it both seems messy and would not genarate as much revenuee as people think b/c the value drops as they try to sell 7:11 PM@eathdemonI imagine some concervitive group 7:14 PM@eathdemonI will point out they dont actuly have a billion in liquad assets, most of it is stuff like stocks when you try to sell it the actul value would go down. 7:20 PM@LeeShowronsyou know most politicians are rich on both sides 7:28 PM@RainaharperrrWow 7:34 PM@eathdemonsuprised they are using ai chatbot given most insurance companies refuse to insure/cover ai chatbots lol 7:37 PM@eathdemonyou yoseventy sam pulling out your two pistols lol 7:39 PM@jaredknisely6213if i had your problems andrew, i wouldnt have the patience to stay where you at 7:39 PM@eathdemonI mean most of the time drying issues are just lint clogs, so that makes sense 7:41 PM@jaredknisely6213this is why they say to find apartments with in house cloths washing 7:43 PM@eathdemoncross the street, up the hill, down the valley, vcross the river of lava :)

Will the Switch 2 be the first Nintendo console I don't own? 0:00 - I'm playing the Another Code games. They're okay... 8:17 - The Kathy Rain games are good! 15:05 - To buy or not to buy a Nintendo Switch 2. That was the question before the price increased If you missed Saturday’s live broadcast of Molehill Mountain, you can watch the video replay on YouTube. Chat Transcript: 7:00 PM@eathdemoniv been playing sky 2nd chapter remake lol 7:01 PM@eathdemonanso highest revewed game of the year lol 7:01 PM@eathdemonit is lol 7:02 PM@eathdemonyes, yes I will be getting that oot remake, the analog camera controls alone worth it 7:07 PM@SheekagoHey Andrew et all 7:07 PM@addictedtochaos2Hello 7:10 PM@SheekagoYou missed buying the Switch 2 before the price hike. What's got you considering it now? 7:13 PM@SheekagoLOL yep, that'll earn his trust. 7:15 PM@SheekagoA detective with a heart. 7:17 PM@SheekagoAre some of the villains just people wearing a ghost sheet? 7:20 PM@SheekagoYou didn't get hooked by 1-2 Switch!?! 7:21 PM@eathdemonI did not buy a wii or wiiu I bought both switch/switch 2 lol 7:21 PM@addictedtochaos2Switch 2 released on June 5, 2025 7:22 PM@SheekagoI didn't buy Switch 2 until this year. DK Bananza is fun, but I haven't played it much since I bought it. I've been playing Switch games that run better on Switch 2. 7:23 PM@SheekagoI did also just get the new Fire Emblem 7:24 PM@jaredknisely6213if you are dragging it out, we already know the answer buddy 7:24 PM@SheekagoPlease don't make it be a cliffhanger and you reveal on your next podcast if you got the new Switch 2. Same Andrew time, same Andrew channel... 7:24 PM@eathdemonim sorry im too much of a ppokemon mark 7:25 PM@eathdemonso I brought it last dec 7:25 PM@SheekagoSplatoon Raiders looks like they just took Salmon Run from Splatoon and made it it's own game. No thank you. 7:25 PM@eathdemonnope oot is prity much one to one for your taste 7:26 PM@SheekagoWelcome Tour I think? 7:27 PM@addictedtochaos2I haven’t played anything in almost a year, just haven’t had the time. 7:29 PM@eathdemonin my case it is b/c I have a gamming pc lol 7:30 PM@SheekagoThe new Joy Cons are better... but I still use my Switch Pro controller instead. 7:30 PM@SheekagoThey still feel too small and uncomfortable. 7:30 PM@LeeShowronsHey 7:31 PM@SheekagoMario Galaxy 3? 7:31 PM@LeeShowronsyeah, and I wish they could just stick with one console so I don’t have to keep buying new ones. 7:32 PM@SheekagoCan you see the sweat glimmering on the avatar in Fitness Boxing Switch 2 Edition? 7:32 PM@LeeShowronsI doubt we’re gonna get a Mario galaxy three. I would want a Mario Odyssey 2 7:33 PM@SheekagoYeah, I want to replay Link's Awakening on Switch 2 eventually. 7:33 PM@addictedtochaos2Plus now you have Metroid Ravenous to look forward to. 7:34 PM@LeeShowronswell, for me, the direct was disappointing 7:34 PM@Sheekago@addictedtochaos2 Metroid Ravenous definitely on my wishlist 7:34 PM@eathdemonoot remake largly what I wanted which was oot modern controls. 7:35 PM@eathdemonall I ever wanted was analog comera controls, and I got that lol 7:35 PM@SheekagoI hope they added a few new things to OoT Remake. 1:1 remake would be boring, to me. 7:35 PM@eathdemonyp its a good dinasor planet lol 7:36 PM@SheekagoHumming the tunes to activate the ocarina is not enough to make it feel fresh to me 7:36 PM@LeeShowronsit’s not that many switch 2 first party exclusive yet 7:38 PM@LeeShowronsA lot of people are most likely going to switch over to the switch if Sony keeps with digital only 7:38 PM@eathdemonI think dongons are guna be prity simaler to the og 7:40 PM@eathdemonit will be a bit the 3d mario team was the one that made donkey kong bananxa 7:45 PM@SheekagoI always tried to match the tempo of the song. I like the idea of immersion, but add more things to make it feel fresh. 7:45 PM@eathdemonhate to be the barrer of bad news, most cartages are just key cards 7:46 PM@addictedtochaos2Most third party games from the big publishers are key cards, oddly enough smaller publishers are more often complete on cart. 7:46 PM@LeeShowronswell, game key cards are still shareable and physical 7:46 PM@Sheekago@eathdemon Not all cartridges are Key cards. Nintendo is having all their games (except Pokopia) full on cart. Capcom though, all their games feel like key carts. 7:48 PM@eathdemonI think link looking like a doll is a bit weird, but otherwise im ok with it 7:48 PM@SheekagoHe's sweating from all the pressure of saving Hyrule. 7:49 PM@SheekagoMaybe Hyrule is in England? So much fog, rain and just bleak looking. 7:50 PM@SheekagoYES. They went overboard with all the detail they added to Link. 7:51 PM@addictedtochaos2I forget what it is called, but they appear to be based on a type of puppet. 7:51 PM@SheekagoI'm surprised they didn't add pimples to Link, 5 o'clock shadow to adult Link. Maybe pit stains on his clothes. 7:52 PM@humanoidcorn4476[message retracted] 7:52 PM@eathdemoneven if thats true they messed up kinda b/c he is hyrulen, not from the farost lol 7:53 PM@SheekagoLink is dead inside from not having a fairy so long/ 7:54 PM@SheekagoThe redead, the ones that lock you in place with the screams 7:56 PM@eathdemonnot intreasted in kirby :) 7:57 PM@SheekagoKirby definitely looked interesting. It reminded me of that Jim Carrey movie, The Truman Show 7:59 PM@SheekagoYou have to give thumb wresting in Switch Sports Re... ah who man I kidding. It looked boring as hell. 8:00 PM@SheekagoLOL 8:00 PM@SheekagoI KNEW IT 8:01 PM@SheekagoI was on the fence too, but I'm a Nintendo Fan. I couldn't resist. 8:02 PM@addictedtochaos2Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter just came out on Switch 2, complete on cart. 8:02 PM@addictedtochaos2Donkey Kong will eventually go on sale. 8:03 PM@SheekagoThe Switch Nintendo games are on sale 30% off in their Customer Appreciation sale. Switch 2 games are not. They don't appreciate us THAT much. 8:04 PM@SheekagoMario Wonder, Kirby and the Forgotten World have $20 upgrades. I don't know about Pikmin 4. 8:05 PM@SheekagoOnimusha IS on Switch 2 8:07 PM@addictedtochaos2They are $20 because they came with extra content as well. 8:08 PM@addictedtochaos2Jean Reno 8:09 PM@jaredknisely6213so shilling out 500 for the zelda version 8:09 PM@jaredknisely6213was not in the plans 8:10 PM@SheekagoI didn't think Mario Wonder's extra content was good enough for the $20. Kirby, maybe worth it, but I haven't gotten it. 8:11 PM@eathdemonuse that window ac :) 8:12 PM@SheekagoI had Amazon gift cards and only paid $30 out of pocket for Switch 2.
