SOFTWAREUDVIKLING: VÆR MED TIL AT SKABE FREMTIDEN

Hvordan ser Bornholm ud, hvis havet stiger? Det undersøger William og hans gruppe i deres førsteårsprojekt på ITU. De har udviklet en app, hvor man kan ændre havniveauet og se, hvordan stigende vandstand kan påvirke veje og vores omgivelser.I videoen fortæller William om, hvordan teknologi kan gøre klimaforandringer mere konkrete. Det kan være svært at forestille sig, hvordan verden ser ud om 20 eller 30 år - men ved at simulere fremtidens scenarier kan vi få et billede af, hvad der kan vente os.For William handler projektet derfor ikke kun om at bygge en app. Det handler om at bruge teknologi til at forstå fremtiden bedre - så vi kan nå at forberede os på den og måske være med til at ændre den.<h2>SHAPE THE FUTURE</h2>What would Bornholm look like if sea levels rise? That’s what William and his group are exploring in their first-year project at ITU. They have developed an app where you can change the sea level and see how rising waters could affect roads and the world around us.In the video, William explains how technology can make climate change more tangible. Stitching Temporalities: Tending to futures through thread and touch

from Feminist Technoscience in Practice: Digital Counter Mapping recorded on May 22, 2025With guest Marysol Ortega Pallanezç, Assistant Professor at Arizona State University Visioning — the act of imagining futures — is crucial to design, yet dominant approaches often rely on fast, linear notions of time that limit what futures become possible. This lecture explores how the synergy between embroidery and design, as time-variant and material practices, offers an alternative mode of visioning, one that embraces layered, relational, and non-linear temporalities. By engaging with these plural timescapes, designers can contribute to a rebraiding of these temporalities — including and questioning dominant narratives of progress — to more intertwined futures. Avi Wigderson: Mathematics and Computation

Avi Wigderson is one of the leading figures in the theory of  computation. His groundbreaking work on computational complexity, randomness, and cryptography has helped define the field over the past four decades. Recipient of both the Abel Prize and the Turing Award, Wigderson has been instrumental in revealing deep connections between computation, mathematics, and the nature of efficient reasoning.Nutan and Thore talk to Avi about life, research, mathematics, and computing. Avi embodies the ideals of the community of researchers in theoretical computer science, and how the norms around institutions, development, publishing, and networking have shaped the field. We also try to cover many aspects of this recent book highlighting the interplay between computing and mathematics, and role that TCS plays in revolutionising both information technology and many other scientific fields.
