Episode #142: A Nice Vacation and a Plan for Discipline.

Adri and I finally went on our honeymoon/anniversary trip to Puerto Rico! It was such a wonderful experience. I can’t wait to travel again! This week, the focus is on discipline. I have had great runs with discipline in the past ending in accomplishment, and now it’s time to put it into practice again! Episode #141: Hard Times and Real Talk.

Well, things at this HVAC company have taken a very disappointing turn. I’m not going to be making nearly as much money as I thought for a long time. It feels like another setback, but at least this time around, I enjoy the work that I do, work itself isn’t stressful, and Adri and I are able to at least handle the bills. So I can afford to be patient and come up with a new plan. As for the athletic goal, I developed a low-impact workout routine that feels really good and is keeping me strong! So I can be patient here as well while we figure out financing around medical visits for my ankle. Quote of the week: None. Current running PBs: 5k: 19:54 --- 6:25 per mile. Episode #140: Back to the Drawing Board.

Well the ankle pain is back with a vengeance. Big oof. I’m going to have to consider what’s the best way to deal with it moving forward. Everything at work is going really well though! And now I’m going to have more free time in the evenings. Quote of the week: None. Current running PBs: 5k: 19:54 --- 6:25 per mile. (Doral Christmas Race 12/21/2025) 10k: 42:48 --- 6:53 per mile. Episode #139: Bouncing Back from a Near-Quit Experience

6 weeks of training down (I missed 4 sessions across the last 3 weeks), 10 to go! The last 3 weeks have been mentally and physically rough. The past 3 days, I considered letting the athletic journey go, but I bounced back and realized I haven’t tried everything yet! There is more I can do to make this journey happen, but I have to double down and make a bit more of a sacrifice. I’m not done yet! I do have this ankle injury as an extra hurdle on top of everything else that comes with training for a 100 mile race, but even with that I still believe it is possible! So I’m going to keep trying! I KNOW I can do it! Quote of the week: “Have you tried EVERYTHING?” - Myself. Current running PBs: 5k: 19:54 --- 6:25 per mile. (Doral Christmas Race 12/21/2025) 10k: 42:48 --- 6:53 per mile. Episode #136: A Nice Chill Week.

This week felt really nice. I just rested from running, enjoyed time with Adri, bonded with my best friend, and continued thinking about the future! The key to financial freedom is simply to keep increasing earnings while decreasing bills, and not simply spending the extra money, but saving it and using it to decrease the bills even faster! An earnings increase should be coming soon so I am excited for that, and we are back on the grind for the Half Marathon! I’m so excited for this training block.
