Jesus the Rescuer | Jeff Lynch

What happens when Jesus walks into the place everyone else is afraid to go? In Mark 5, Jesus encounters a man who has been completely overtaken by darkness. He lives among the tombs, is isolated from everyone around him, and cannot break free from the chains that have controlled his life. But Jesus sees something that everyone else has missed. He sees the person beneath the pain. In this powerful message, “Jesus, the Rescuer,” we discover four things about Jesus: 1. Jesus goes into places that others fear. Jesus wasn't afraid to step into the cemetery. He intentionally went where others wouldn't go because there was a person there who needed Him. 2. Jesus sees the person beneath the pain. People saw a dangerous, broken man. Jesus saw a child of God who needed to be rescued. 3. Jesus is master of whatever has mastered you. The demons called themselves Legion, but even what appeared to be impossible was no match for King Jesus. The message reminds us that our feelings, addictions, past, loneliness and circumstances don't have the final word. Jesus does. 4. Jesus turns the rescued into rescuers. After Jesus set the man free, He gave him a mission: go home and tell people what the Lord had done for him. The man who had once been isolated among the tombs became a messenger of hope. And that same calling reaches us. If Jesus has rescued you, who can you tell? The message ultimately asks us to consider our own response to Jesus: Will we ask Him to leave us alone, cling to the things that keep us bound, or surrender our lives and allow Him to restore us? Jesus doesn't just want to rescue you. He wants to restore you and give your life purpose. Come and See | Jeff Lynch

What if your questions about Jesus aren't a reason to stay away from Him—but an invitation to come and see? In John 1:43–51, Nathanael hears that Philip has found the Messiah. His response is skeptical: “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Philip doesn't argue with him. He simply says, “Come and see.” In this message, Pastor Jeff Lynch explores what happens when we bring our questions, assumptions, doubts, and disappointments directly to Jesus. You'll discover four important truths: Don't let your assumptions keep you from Jesus. Your questions do not disqualify you. Jesus knows what no one else can see. An encounter with Jesus can change your conclusion. Maybe you've been hurt by church people. Maybe you've questioned whether Christianity is really true. Maybe you've believed in Jesus for years but haven't actually taken the next step of following Him. Or maybe you're simply weary, searching for purpose, peace, and hope. Jesus' invitation remains the same: Come and see. You don't have to have every question answered before you take a step toward Him. Bring your questions. Bring your doubts. Bring your assumptions. Come and see who Jesus really is. If this message speaks to you, share it with someone who may be searching for answers about Jesus, faith, and purpose. Not Too Far | Jeff Lynch

Have you ever wondered if you've gone too far for God? Maybe you've made decisions you regret. Maybe you've experienced things you can't undo. Maybe shame has convinced you that God's plans are for other people—but not for you. John 4 tells the story of a woman who had a complicated past and had been pushed to the margins of her community. And Jesus went looking for her. He crossed cultural barriers. He crossed social barriers. He crossed the barriers created by her past. And He met her at the well. In this message, we discover that you're not too far away, you're not too far gone, and Jesus still wants you. Jesus knows the real you—and He still loves you. Your past doesn't have to determine your future. And when Jesus changes your life, you have a story to tell. The woman who came to the well in shame left as a messenger of hope, and many people in her city came to believe in Jesus because of her testimony. Your story isn't over. There are better days ahead. ### CHAPTERS 00:00 Prayer & Introduction 01:00 The Chosen Series 02:00 You Were Chosen Before Creation 03:00 You're Not Too Far Gone 04:00 The Woman at the Well 05:00 Jesus Crosses Barriers 09:00 Jesus Came to Give Life 11:00 What Are You Thirsty For? 14:00 Jesus Is the Lifter of Your Head 15:00 Jesus Knows the Real You 18:00 Your Past Doesn't Have to Define You 19:00 Jesus Wants to Give You a New Life 20:00 Jesus Is What You've Been Looking For 22:00 When Jesus Changes You, You Have a Story 24:00 Your Story Can Change Someone Else 26:00 Look Up 28:00 Will You Choose Jesus? 30:00 Salvation Prayer 32:00 Your Megaphone Isn't Silent Forever 33:00 Worship & Response 📖 John 4 #CompassionChurch #Chosen #NotTooFar #John4 #Jesus #WomanAtTheWell

Follow Me | Jeff Lynch

What happens when Jesus looks at someone everyone else has already written off? In Matthew 9, Jesus sees Matthew sitting at a tax booth and says two simple words: “Follow me.” Matthew's past didn't disqualify him. His reputation didn't disqualify him. His failures didn't disqualify him. Jesus saw something different. In this message from the Chosen series, we discover four powerful truths: • Jesus sees people differently than we do. • Jesus calls us before we have it all together. • Found people find people. • Religion looks down, but Jesus builds up. Maybe you've been labeled by your past. Maybe you've convinced yourself you've gone too far. You haven't. Jesus is still saying, “Follow me.” Scripture Matthew 9:9–13 Series Chosen Church Compassion Church Danville Website Compassion Church Danville 00:00 — Welcome to Compassion Church Danville 00:45 — Introducing the Chosen Series 01:00 — Follow Me 02:00 — Jesus Sees You 03:30 — Jesus Sees People Differently Than We Do 04:00 — What Did Jesus See in Matthew? 05:00 — Why People Hated Matthew 06:00 — Who Is Your Matthew? 07:00 — We Can't Love God and Hate People 08:00 — When You Feel Like Matthew 09:00 — Jesus Has Not Given Up on You 10:00 — Jesus Calls Us Before We Have It All Together 11:00 — You Don't Clean the Fish Before You Catch It 12:00 — Matthew Leaves Everything to Follow Jesus 14:00 — Jesus Looks Into Your Heart 15:00 — Stop Living in the Past 16:00 — Your RSVP Matters More Than Your Resume 18:00 — Found People Find People 19:00 — Matthew's House 21:00 — Don't Abandon People Who Need Jesus 23:00 — Religion Looks Down; Jesus Builds Up 24:00 — Jesus Desires Mercy 26:00 — Why We Gather 28:00 — Jesus Is Hope 30:00 — You Haven't Gone Too Far 31:00 — Responding to Jesus 33:00 — Next Steps 34:00 — Closing Prayer

This Is My Church | Jeff Lynch

This Is My Church | Compassion Church Danville What does it actually mean to say, “This is my church?” In week two of the This Is Us series, Pastor Jeff challenges us to move beyond simply attending church and become active participants in God's family and His mission. God didn't save us simply to sit in a seat on Sunday. He saved us to belong, grow, serve, give, and live on mission. Drawing from Acts 2, Romans 12, Hebrews 10, and Malachi 3, this message explores five commitments: 1. I will make church attendance a priority. 2. I will make a plan to grow in community. 3. I will serve with my spiritual gifts. 4. I will give generously. 5. I will live on mission. The local church isn't a place where we simply attend a service. It's a family where we get connected, equipped, encouraged, and sent. If Jesus has changed your life, don't keep that story to yourself. There are people around you who need hope. Let's get beyond me. Let's get on mission. 📖 Acts 2 📖 Romans 12 📖 Hebrews 10 📖 Malachi 3 📍 Compassion Church Danville #CompassionChurch #ThisIsUs #ThisIsMyChurch #ChristianCommunity #LiveOnMission #SpiritualGifts #churchfamily 00:00 Introduction — This Is Us Week Two 01:00 What Is My Responsibility in the Church? 02:00 God Saved Me for Family and Mission 03:00 The Five Components of This Is My Church 04:00 Jesus and the Mission of the Church 05:00 The First Century Church Was Devoted 06:00 Why Church Matters 07:00 Tables of Eight and the Power of Community 08:00 Church as a Keystone Habit 09:00 Stirring One Another to Love and Good Works 10:00 Make Church Attendance a Priority 11:00 Make a Plan to Grow in Community 12:00 There Is No Lone Ranger Christian 13:00 We Need Each Other 14:00 Serve With Your Spiritual Gifts 15:00 Understanding Spiritual Gifts 16:00 The Gift of Prophecy 17:00 The Gift of Serving 18:00 The Gift of Exhortation 19:00 The Gift of Generosity 20:00 The Gift of Leadership 21:00 The Gift of Mercy 22:00 Give Generously 23:00 Tithing Is About the Heart 24:00 Why We Invest in the Local Church 25:00 Live on Mission 26:00 The Early Church Grew Day by Day 27:00 Remembering Cathy Adkins 28:00 From Brokenness to Serving Jesus 29:00 Living on Mission 30:00 The Church Is More Than a Service 31:00 Fight for the Mission 32:00 Give God a Year 33:00 What Do You Need to Start Doing? 34:00 Get Beyond Me 35:00 Reflection and Prayer 36:00 An Invitation to Follow Jesus 37:00 Salvation Prayer 38:00 Closing Worship

Made For a Mission | Jeff Lynch

Made for a Mission | Compassion Church Danville You were made for more—but more than that, you were made for a mission. In the final message of the This Is Us series, Pastor Jeff challenges every follower of Jesus to recognize that God made us, equipped us, and is sending us to take Jesus to others. Jesus didn't save us simply to attend church every Sunday. He called us to be His representatives in the world around us. In this message, we explore: • How our mission continues the mission of Jesus • What the Great Commission means for ordinary Christians • Why your mission field is already all around you • The difference between ministry and mission • Why the Church can't become a “holy huddle” • How the Holy Spirit empowers us to be witnesses • Why evangelism is about loving people, not winning arguments • How God can use our scars and stories • What it means to be an ambassador for Christ • Why our lives should match the message we carry • How to identify your “one” person • How to help someone take one step closer to Jesus You don't have to reach everyone. You don't have to have all the answers. You don't have to save anyone. Find your one. Pray for them. Connect with them. Invite them one step closer to Jesus. Connect My Life With God

What does it actually look like to follow Jesus every day? In this message from Compassion Church Danville, Pastor Jeff begins the This Is Us series by focusing on one of the most important foundations of following Jesus: staying connected to God. Jesus said in John 15, “I am the vine; you are the branches.” A branch can't produce fruit when it's disconnected from the vine. In the same way, we can't live the life God has called us to live apart from Him. This message challenges us to take daily responsibility for our personal connection with God through three simple practices: 1. Make time with God a priority. 2. Learn to feed yourself spiritually. 3. Stay connected to Jesus. You'll also hear a practical 10-minute challenge: spend 10 minutes reading Scripture, 10 minutes praying, and then ask Jesus, “What do You want me to know and do today?” You don't have to have a perfect routine. You simply have to begin. Start walking with Jesus. Stay connected to the Vine. Let God fill you so His presence can overflow into your family, workplace, church, and community. 📖 Scripture: John 15:1–11; Mark 1:35; Hebrews 5:12–14 📍 Compassion Church Danville #ThisIsUs #CompassionChurch #DanvilleVA #John15 #ChristianDiscipleship #Prayer #BibleReading 00:00 Welcome & Hope Center Update 01:00 Introducing the “This Is Us” Series 03:00 Prayer: Set a Fire in Our Hearts 04:00 Taking Responsibility for Your Connection With God 05:00 John 15 — Jesus Is the Vine 07:00 What Does It Mean to Abide? 10:00 How Much Are You Leaving on the Table? 11:00 A Picture of a Life Connected to Jesus 15:00 Preparing for the Hard Times of Life 16:30 Make Time With God a Priority 18:00 Finding Your Personal Rhythm With God 20:00 Let God Fill You Up 22:00 Overflowing Into the Lives of Others 23:30 Learn to Feed Yourself Spiritually 25:00 Growing Into Spiritual Maturity 26:00 Tables of Eight & Growing Together 27:00 Stay Connected to Jesus 28:00 Give God 15 Minutes 30:00 The Crabgrass Illustration 31:00 You Can Reconnect With Jesus 32:00 A Decision Requires Action 33:00 The 10-Minute Challenge 34:00 Prayer & Reflection 37:00 Responding to Jesus 38:00 Salvation Prayer 39:00 Closing Worship
