Question: What is AI?
How did you like the episode? What is AI? In this shorter Q&A episode, I do my best to illustrate one of the fundamental building blocks for AI and describe what AI isn't. It's easy to.... get lost in the AI hype train. It's not going to brush your teeth and give your presentation at work this week. But it may make those tasks a little bit easier. Well, I don't know about the teeth brushing app, but it could be a possibility.Helpful Info:AI vs ML vs DL: https://www.ibm.com/blog/ai-vs-machine-learning-vs-deep-learning-vs-neural-networks/Deep Learning Taking Over:https://towardsdatascience.com/why-deep-learning-is-needed-over-traditional-machine-learning-1b6a99177063Machine Learning as the Originalhttps://www.algotive.ai/blog/the-history-of-artificial-intelligence-machine-learning-and-deep-learning#ancla_5

(Update) - Devin.ai... already??
How did you like the episode? The program to replace programmers has received feedback from users, and the company is seeking a $2 billion evaluation. Do they know something we don't about Devin or is this more smoke from the marketing hype train? Was the feedback positive? (no. While most articles conclude that AI is a helpful tool and not a replacement, you have to scroll all the way to the conclusion to get your answer. Additionally, search 'devin ai will not replace engineers', you'll get a couple of reassuring headlines, but it's mostly the results from the first search. If you've read this far, just know the YouTube link to the unofficial, uncut and unpublished response is actually a link to Rick Astley's hit song. I have yet to see anyone talk about their response to the user feedback.

Why You Should Listen to Awakened Intelligence
How did you like the episode? My name’s Jacob and this is the Awakened Intelligence podcast; an easy to digest news and education podcast covering Artificial Intelligence. AI is a technical subject, and this very brief episode answers two questions you might have:Why does this podcast exist? It’s easy to get lost in the AI hype train and buried under technical papers. The technical nature of this subject turns away anyone who hates math or doesn't want to spend hours reading papers. Myself and several colleagues make jokes about how hard it is to read some artificial intelligence papers and understand these concepts. Yet, the contents of these papers can change lives if they ever saw daylight. Why should you tune in to this podcast? I have over 7 years of software development experience and have been in the AI research space for the last 5. I've also been a teaching assistant for the past 3 years and informally mentored several colleagues/classmates during my time in academics. I may not be the best expert on AI, but that's not my mission. My mission is to make this content more digestible so we can have more AI experts in the world.Outside of the time I've already spent in academia, I dedicate hours of research to individual topics and cross referencing information to ensure it's legit. While some information may change, I ensure the information presented is as accurate as possible. I do my best to teach meaningful concepts without over hyping AI and try not to bore you with technical details. There are many sources of information out there, and my goal is to condense the good stuff into an easily digestible format.
