Hi there! I'm Patrice Davis, host of The Age Has No Limit podcast. This podcast was created to inspire people in their 40s, 50s, and older to redesign their lives and live on their terms. Each episode of the podcast will serve as an example of the life you can live. Whether you're learning a new skill, traveling the world, starting a business, or finally unboxing yourself from the confines of others' expectations, our guests share their paths to a redesigned life and solo episodes do the same. I'm Patrice Davis, a 50+ mom of three, CEO of GrantWin (formerly Grants Works), the woman behind Ready Set Go Consult, travel enthusiast, and culture lover. Ep 1 - How to Begin Unboxing Yourself

Do you feel like you’re wasting time? Do you feel stuck in a job or stuck in some other area of your life? Is there a feeling tugging at you that you should pivot? Research shows that where we have the deepest regrets is also where we have the great opportunities It’s those opportunities, taken and planned, that I’ll encourage you to revisit. I’ll also encourage you to think about the box you may be in and how to begin the unboxing process. Whether you were led into the box by societal expectations or a box you happily jumped into, many of us (me included) were and are in boxes. I’ll also explore the primary regrets people have as they age such as staying in a job too long, waiting to save or not saving enough, getting married for the wrong reason or even being married to the wrong person, missed opportunities, and not enough time with loved ones. Finally, I’ll share some steps to begin the unboxing process. Some of the suggestions are ones I’ve undertaken myself.

Ep 2 - Do You Remember Your First Time?

What do some stroke victims, elite athletes, and business titans have in common? They use visualization to either activate neuroplasticity as in the case of some stroke victims and elite athletes such as LeBron James and Michael Phelps and business titans such as Richard Branson of the Virgin Group, Sara Blakely, founder of Spanx, and Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and SpaceX all use visualization techniques to envision a desired future outcome. What about you? Do you remember the first time you intentionally developed a vision for your life? Have you ever? I don’t like to admit this but the first time I was intentional about creating a vision for my life was in 2020. Prior to that I had visions of what I’d hoped would happen. Intentional visualization allows you to *create* the outcome you want. During this episode, we’ll explore visualization and how it can help you on the path to redesign your life.

Ep 3 - How to Redesign Your Life In Your 40s, 50s, 60s, and Older

I think millennials and Gen Z get it about placing an emphasis on the life part of the so-called work-life balance. Many of them believe life is short. Those of us in our late 40s, 50s, and older see things differently because that’s not how we were raised. We went headfirst into the work part of the so-called work-life balance. We conformed to it, were sauteed in it, and didn’t question it. But some of us do get it. Some of us have the resources and/or the skills to make some changes and we have—and by us I mean those of us in our late 40s, 50s, 60s, and older. Some of us are intentionally redesigning our lives. In this episode, we’re going to talk about folks who are intentional about redesigning their lives and I hope to inspire some of you to do the same. We’ll start by revisiting the Mexican fisherman story, place a spotlight on Good Housekeeping’s article—The Transformation Diaries, and I'll end by providing actionable steps you can take to redesign your life.

Ep 4 - They Radically Redesigned Their Lives

Did you know that data shows that we get happier after 50? Of course, this isn’t the case for everyone considering some are contending with tragedies and disappointments. However, many people are reinventing themselves to do what makes them happier and we’re featuring them in this episode. I start with Ernestine Shepherd who became a champion bodybuilder a few decades ago and also feature a few other people who radically changed their lives (and the world) after 50. I end the show by sharing a few recommendations on how you can jumpstart your “no limit” or unboxed life. Yours will look different from others as it’s yours to redesign.

Ep 5 - How to Start A Business In Your 50s, 60s or Older

If you’re ready to take the leap into entrepreneurship, I got you covered. In this episode, we’re going to cover the basics of starting a business in your 50s 60s, and older. We’re gonna touch a little on what shifts you’ll need in your thinking, focus on how your age (and experience) is an asset you can capitalize on, and end with a step-by-step process to get started. If this is your first time listening to the Age Has No Limit podcast or watching the video, you may not know that like many other people, I started a business in 2020. I started my business when I was 48 and now at 51 approaching 52, I can say it changed my life for the better. In this episode, I hope to inspire those of you who’ve been thinking about taking the leap into entrepreneurship to ‘just do it.’

Ep 6 - How to Build A Lifestyle-Aligned Business That Brings You Joy

Autonomy. Fun. Freedom. Time. Flexibility. Happiness. Those are some of the “life rewards” described on the Bond Collective website as they were describing a lifestyle entrepreneur and how to become one. In today’s episode, I’m going to talk about having a lifestyle-aligned business, find out if it’s even possible for you, and feature a few people who’ve been successful at building one. Many people start a business because they want more time or money freedom. In fact, two of the top reasons people start a business are the freedom to pursue a passion and the desire to be one’s own boss. In a previous episode, , I shared specific step-by-step actions to take to start a business in your 40s, 50s, 60s, and older IF that’s how you want to redesign your life to live it on your own terms. During this episode, I’m sharing some tips on how you can align your business with your lifestyle.

Ep 8 - Why You're Letting The Fear of Change Hold You Back

Let’s talk about pushing past the fear of change. I’m talking about the changes that you know will lead to an improvement (or several) in your life but you’re afraid to act because of what you think you’ll lose, or because of perfectionism, or because you’ve convinced yourself that what others think is more important than your progress. To make the changes in our lives that are necessary to live life on our own terms, start a business, pursue a passion, get the love and intimacy we deserve—and be willing to give it back, we have to be willing to change. During this episode, we’ll have a conversation about what’s behind the fear, ways to overcome it, and do “it” anyway. I’ll also share how I push past feelings of fear and anxiety and why you can learn to change your thoughts and push past the fear. Show Notes: https://www.readysetgoconsult.com/age-has-no-limits
